how do you design your trainings?

We use the latest evidence-based models in culturally responsive practice to develop and fine-tune our trainings. Furthermore, we rigorously evaluate our trainings using independent assessors to ensure that our training attendees are receiving content that is timely, scientifically grounded, actionable, and adaptable.

who's eligible to take these trainings?

Everyone (seriously)! We welcome and encouage people from any and every backgound to partake in our trainings. But if you're curious about who usually comes: its nonprofit professionals, social workers, healthcare professionals, education professionals,   govenment employees, and legal services professionals

But you don't need any particular background or level of expertise or familiarity with the training content to enjoy and extract something fruitful from our trainings.

What can I expect in your trainings?

You can expect deeply curated, visually engaging content that infuses both conceptual and experential ("applied") material. You will be exposed to complex theories and have the opportunity to engage in case study development, group problem-solving, and role-playing with your training peers.

Do you provide training completion certificates?

Yes! Upon completion of one of our trainings, you immediately become eligible for a certificate confirming your attendance and completion.

Yes! We can offer and facilitate access to Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for anyone who attends one of our trainings. Whether you're in education, healthcare, social work, legal services, human resouces, or any other field, we've got you covered.

Who are chum's trainers?

Our trainers are personable, dynamic, and experienced practitioners and well-published educators, practitioners, and researchers in the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging space. They have only gone through a rigorous training and re-training sequence to ensure that they can successfully conduct CHUM trainings and connect with a diverse array of audiences.

Do you have any pre-recorded or asynchronous content?

No! We firmly believe in the value and potency of live, real-time trainings. This is supported by both intuition and research on the topic: Live trainings are inherently more tangible, intimate, and pedagogically impactful than non-live trainings. For that reason, pre-recroded and asynchronous trainings aren't something we offer.

What kinds of materials come with each training?

Quite a bit! We believe in ensuring that trainings shouldn't be a one-time experience, but rather a longitudinal collaboration. Following each training, our trainees get substantive materials to ensure their ability to sustain lessons they've learned during the training. Here's what comes with each training package that we offer:

    1. An evidence-based training
    2. A mailed, personalized training completion certificate
    3. Continuing Education Units
    4. A 40-page PDF summary guide focused on our models and approaches for understanding the training content, along with post-training exercise and activity worksheets
